I have had problems with past earpieces tearing up because of the wire getting stripped or pulled out and that is why I wanted to try this one. The earpiece seems to be nicely made and seems to be durable. Of course, only time will tell but so far so good. I love that there is a button on the side of the quick disconnect so that if my hand is lower then i can key up on tge mic if need be. At this point I would buy this product again because it seems like this product will hold up for a while.
It is as flexible as the older style wires, but the durability is evident. It has been a great replacement for my old system, and I don't need to worry about the casing falling apart within a month of daily use.
There is plenty of wire for different configurations, and more than sufficient for my current configuration.
I own a private security contracting firm, and I go to Comm Gear Supply for all my communications needs. You can't go wrong with them, whatever your requirements. ***This is a wishlist item and not a problem with the tactical mic*** It would be amazing if there were a way to pair it with a PTT button that connects to the steering wheel. Again that this a wishlist item and not a comment on the mic; the mic itself it perfect for tactical and surveillance use cases.
Have been a frequent with CGS for almost 4 years. It’s the best service and most reliable piece for APX radios. Quick disconnect is a game changer as well as the discount for LE every time you purchase. They also helped with different setups when rigging a different carrier.
If given the choice will never be without this. I never miss a radio call, and it allows me to hear the radio without the individual I'm talking to listening in. The way I have set up, I can key my radio with either hand.
